language pOwer!!

By JuLiDa
Language is a symbol of interaction with others when we share the meaning..as our lovely lecturer, Madam Shafizan said in the last class, we still can be a good communicator even we don't have a good common of language. This is impossible if we know how to speak with flow and have a lot of knowledge of certain informations.

However, if we have a good common of language, it is a advantage for us to be more succesfull and effective communicator. Let us now knowing what are the components of language as we can improve our skills in achieving a good common in the area.

Firstly, let look at the terms; homonym, homophones and heteronym.
Do all of you really understand about those terms? lets discuss its.

1-Homonym: One of a group words that share the same spelling or pronounciation (or both) but have different meanings. As for the examples below:

a) Stalk which can mean either part of a plant or to follow someone around.
b) Lie which can mean to say something untrue or to be in a horizontal position.

2- Homophones: A word that is pronounced the same as another word but differs in meaning. As for the examples:

a) Meat which means the edible flesh of animals while meet is to come together or to be introduced to.
b) Peace which means freedom from strive and while piece is a part of larger thing.

3- Heteronym: Words with identical spellings but different pronounciations and meanings. They may vary in vowel realisation or in stress patterns, or both.
As the examples below:

a) Excuse: Please excuse me while I think of an excuse.
b) Wind : Hopefully the wind will be strong enough to wind the windwill
